    Oh.

Yes. Many things surprise us. We are easily surprised. In fact, we LOVE surprises. Do you have any surprises for us, Lexi?

Nope, I think you and kb have this one well under control. Wink

Thanks, I appreciate it. As a sidenote: I enjoyed the discussion you had on the other thread about Strict Liability. It was above board.

I know Fox is conservative. But, I don't only go there for news. I'm kind of a news junkie and I like to see varying points on a story. So you can imagine my amazement and somewhat dismay, that other networks don't have the same "big" breaking news.

I've discovered that if CNN or others have it, so will Fox. But if Fox has it and it's a more conservative story or it points toward a conservative take on an issue, other other major networks will avoid it.

It's not that I love Fox so much. I just go there a lot because I think I can get a more well-rounded take on our national news since they are offering stories the other networks aren't.

And, the reason I avoid the talking heads like the plague is because they are all about bias. And they are annoying. LOL.

I openly admit most "news" sources have an agenda.  But in response to the bolded, you must admit that Fox does the same thing.  If there is a positive story out of the White House, or something good happening because of liberal policy, you are NOT going to hear about it on Fox News.

How can anyone trust Fox News?  The same news broadcast that told us three months ago that the polls were all wrong and Romney would win?  The election wasn't even close. They are so accurate and all.

Also, this is specifically for kbmom. I am trying to understand really hard what makes people vote against their own self interest. You talk about needing surgery but you are waiting to afford it. Now, if we had universal healthcare you would have already had the surgery because the wait is not as long as you have been waiting. Maybe you qualify for Medicaid or charity care in your local hospital. I am blown away at putting off surgery that is recommended by your doctor. What am I missing?  I just wish we had universal coverage so you could get your surgery. How much do you need?  Maybe DH and I can help?  It makes me sick to my stomach whenever you mention it.

That was to vlagrl. Not kbmom. Sorry

Which broadcast was that? If it was talking heads talking, then yes they wanted "their guy" to win. Were there any non-talking heads, non-opinion pieces that Fox put out that said that Romney would win?

I just remembered a lot of quotations from various polling sources, which are all educated guesses anyway.

And, let's not forget after that first debate, Romney looked pretty good! Stick out tongue

the reason i'm waiting is because it was apparently a pre-existing condition and I have not been on my insurance a year yet.  that pre-existing stuff doesn't take affect until 2014. and the fact that i'm not in pain doesn't make me rush to get it.  I appreciate your concern, but I'm not willing to put stuff on a credit card like everyone else in this nation (not aimed towards anyone here, just generalizing)

for what its worth, i really don't trust any news station.  actually i haven't watched any since the election was over.

I'll give you that. Now that you mentioned it, I will be on high alert for FOX giving any kudos to liberals. Just b/c I'm curious. Stick out tongue See, I don't deny that Fox is this way...it's just I need to give major eye rolls to people that refuse to accept that other sources ARE biased (toward liberal viewpoints and policies) and who think that Fox News is some sort of media pariah with nothing to offer. That's what GETS me!

but you still hate the ACA, even though its the thing that is going to allow you the very surgery you doctor wants you to have?  I am seeing no personal benefit from ACA, but I support it because others need the benefits. Why don't you support something that is directly benefitting you?  I don't understand this...

  • I'm just happy that kbmom has finally found the echo chamber she's been yearning for all these years.

  • In all seriousness, though, this story doesn't ring true.  As Lexi pointed out, it's very possible the business failed because there was a lack of money coming in.  I'm sure vl can agree that if you don't have money coming in, a small business will fail.

That's not he fault of Obamacare, especially since Obamacare hasn't even gone into effect yet.  It's not the fault of the fiscal cliff because it seems like this closure was a long time coming.

Blaming the world's woes on Obama isn't helping anything.   I'm surprised people didn't blame Obama for Harry Styles breaking up with Taylor Swift.

I support parts of it.  the pre existing thing ending, kids being covered until 26.  I just don't approve of all the taxes (pork) that have been put into it.  and no i don't qualify for medicaid, we make more than the limit.  most importantly I don't approve the cap on flex spending at $2,500.  the year we had DD, we were able to deduct about $5,500 in medical expenses out of our HSA, but now not so much.

  • I am so confused by this whole thread.  If you click on the link in the first article to the hospital website they say NOTHING about the ACA.  This hospital has only had OB care since 2005 and now that all four of their OBs are either relocating or changing career direction they have decided to stop delivering a small number of babies due to the cost and that another hospital is only 10 miles away.  How is this about the ACA at all?

I don't agree with a lot of your opinions, MommyLiberty, but I do agree with you on your point that every media outlet is biased to a certain degree. Every article we read, news outlet, story, etc. has some degree of bias.  However, I do personally believe that if we were to scale the level of bias on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most biased, I would rank (and many of my conservative friends would rank) Fox News at least an 8.  NPR on the other hand, while still being biased to a certain degree, I would rank a 5 tops.  My scale is very scientific by the way ( ;) ... but my point is, I think there are varying degrees of bias and many people only get their news/information from one source, which doesn't help much in staying informed.  I like to get my news from multiple outlets, recognize biases and formulate my own opinions.

Thanks, I appreciate it. As a sidenote: I enjoyed the discussion you had on the other thread about Strict Liability. It was above board.

It's not.  It's just an article ML posted so she can tout how awful the ACA is and how it's ruining this country.  Or something like that.

Jeni: There's a ton of news out there. Why don't you ever post anything of interst to you and start a thread, then? All I see you doing is getting kinda passively-agressive/snarky...at me...but never beginning a discussion on your own. Just sayin'...

    Wow crazy

Which part is crazy? The part that the article is a lie?  Yeah, that is crazy.
