Can anyone help me with pricing some items for a yard sale? My family is having one in the spring, and I'm trying to clean out stuff prior to our move and take some stuff each trip to my parents house.
Somethings:
Boppy Pillow
Crib Bedding set--originally 189 if that matters, also have some accessories, mobile, lamp, baskets, nightlight.
Kids clothes--tons of girl stuff newborn-3T.
Girls columbia snowsuit
Girls oshkosh snowsuit
Kids shoes; saucony, stride right, sandles, robeez
Cradle swing
Jumper
Baby tub
Babyhawk Mei Tai
Ann Taylor pants
Maternity clothes
Toys-little mermaid ride on, v-tech push walker; smaller fisherprice and vtech toys
Re: Yardsale prices
We hit up a lot of yard sales this summer and it seemed like general clothing prices were around $1 a piece for kids clothes (maybe a bit more for the snow suits). I'd be interested in your girls larger sizes if you'd like to sell beforehand
Push toys we paid around $5 a piece for. A lot of times they were marked $10, but we usually settled on $5.
Sure! I think I have 2T and up at my house right now (maybe 18 months). Anything smaller is at my parents house. Let me know when you want to meet up and I'll pull it together.
I sold most of my kids clothes for 50 cents. I think I charged $1 for sweaters, shoes and dresses and $2 for coats and snowsuits. Even at that I ended up with a lot left over.
Most of my toys were under $5.
I might suggest sticking your larger baby items on Craigslist before you try to sell it at a yardsale. I got much better prices for those things. I think I sold my swing for $25 and my jumperoo for $30, but look to see what similar items are listed for before you post. I feel like Craiglist people are really looking for those items, vs just trying to beat you down on the price of things.
Our yardsale went pretty well in our neighborhood, but I tried to sell a few things that didn't go a week later at my mom's house and it was almost insulting what people were offering. In a few instances I chose to donate items over practically giving them away to haggelers!
Ditto. I wouldn't dream of selling bigger ticket items at a yard sale.
Jumping in.. kinda related...
My hubby wants some baby stuff out before we move (which is in 3 weeks). I plan on donating the clothes, but he wants me to take the other stuff - arm's reach co-sleeper, swing (barely used), bumbo, exersaucer, bath tub, changing pad to a consignment shop. Anyone deal with taking stuff to consignment? If so, how much did you get for your items? Did you feel it was fair and worth it?
I hate dealing with craigslist people. I would much rather sell them at a yardsale or donate them, than deal with craigslist people.
