Did you have a security blanket or stuffed animal when you were growing up? Do you still have it?

Re: QOTD 1/17
Yes!
I had a stuffed dog named Puddles. The poor thing was almost loved to death! He started out as a pink dog, now he's white (from the many times he went in the wash!) and he's stuffed with rolled up towels because he was losing his stuffing!
He's now in his "retirement home", aka up on the shelf of the closet in my old bedroom.
Embarrassing, but...
I have a pink blanket that someone made for me as a newborn. I didn't attach to it until I was about 4, but I have slept with it since. Its not extremely ratty like it would be after 27 years normally, because its crocheted. I wash it every two weeks or so, so its always clean. I usually tuck it under my arm when I sleep or put it under my head. I am capable of sleeping without it, so I don't take it on vacation or anything. I did take it to college.
DH really doesn't care about my blanket. To be perfectly honest, he sleeps with two burp cloths. He generally holds them when he is falling asleep. Sometimes when he drapes his arm over me while falling asleep, he'll drop it on the floor next to my side of the bed, lol. I wash them every time I do a bleach load (probably every 1.5 weeks). He also is capable of sleeping without them (I didn't find out about them until after we initially started sleeping together), so his don't come on vacation with us either.
I really don't see anything wrong with it. If either of our security items started breaking down and falling apart, or looked dirty or something, maybe I would get rid of them. I don't think it changes the person you are or means I'm less confident or anything. Honestly, I hope when I have a child that they have an item that they are attached to.
My mom made a peanuts blanket for my brother when he was born, it even has his name sewn into the border (small), but I loved that thing so much. I named it blanky blank (original, right?). Then I also had a stuffed dog named doggy dog (see the trend?) that we found at the doctor's office. After he went unclaimed for a week or two, they let us take him home. We had to fix his eyes and nose, but I loved that dog so much!! They're both at my parents house. Once we get settled into our own place, they'll come with me.
I currently sleep with a stuffed animal usually, but not when we go out of town. I like to either use it to give just a little more padding under my head or chin (I don't like two pillows at all!) or separate my boobs...weird, I know. haha.
When I was about 3, my grandmother made me a needle point pillow. I referred to it as my pillow. I slept with it every day until I was about 19. It began to disintegrate, so when I was about 14, I had to put it in a ziplock bag to keep the pillow somewhat together. I proudly went to college sleeping with a pillow in a plastic bag.
I once I was able to not sleep with it, I stored it right under my bed to keep it safe and close by. I still have my pillow, but now it's stored in my closet.
