We need a new mattress. We went to Mattress Warehouse on Saturday to look at them. Can I just tell you that I hate stores that don't put the actual price of the item on the item? I also hate when I am pressured and told that I can only get that "special" price for one day only.
What kind of mattress do you have? Where did you buy it?
I'm leaning towards the Serta I Comfort Prodigy. That thing was awesome. The price has me freaking out but if I am going to sleep better then its worth it.

This is so true and so annoying!! The a$$hole we talked to at Sleepy's kept saying "you won't find a better price on this mattress from anyone else!" and we kept saying "yeah because no one else sells it". He didn't have an answer for that.

i noticed this too.
macy's and sears carry the mattress we want too. do they haggle with prices?
I'm not sure about Sears but I know if you open a Macy's account you get 10% off.
We are also not fans of pillow tops. Since you can only rotate and not flip the mattress, they don't hold up as long.
I purchased a Queen-sized mattress from Macy's in 2003. We used that until 2009 when we upgraded our bed to a King. It's only been 3 years with the pillow top and DH is ready to get a new mattress because he has constant back pain.
We need a new mattress and we both HATE pillow tops because of the flipping issue and because it seems like every time we sleep on one we wake up in a lot of pain. The next mattress we get is probably going to be medium-firm and we'll add a memory foam/other topper if we need extra cushioning.
(Our current mattress is really old and I know we need a new one, but it's not a top priority, yet. Also, we have a narrow stair case so I think the only thing that will fit up it is a split queen, yes, they do make them.)
We're sleep number people and I know that everyone has different opinions of them but for us, it's amazing. We got it 2 years ago and every night I climb in to bed I'm like, "ahhhhhh". Ours is a queen with an optional pillowtop that zips on. What I like about our set is that the whole things is washable. Not to mention that I've I'm having a day when my back is tight, I can adjust the mattress to cradle me. Some nights I sleep on like a 20 (really soft) and other nights I'm at a full 100 (firm). DH is generally about a 60 all around.
Some people say that they can feel the "split" between the two air chambers. We can't. It probably helps that each time I pull the top off to wash it (probably 3 times a year) I adjust the insides.
We got ours off of QVC when they had a closeout on the year before's model. I think it was around $1800, but it has been worth every penny. Set up is super easy too. We just watched the DVD while we were putting it together and we had it set up in about 35 minutes.
My sister, who has a lot of back issues, has had a Sleep Number for about 12 years now and said she doesn't regret it one bit. Theirs has held up really well, too.
