Diagnosed with Vasa Previa
Hi, I have been diagnosed with vasa previa... I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? The doc I saw said he sees a case of it once every couple years (really reassuring!) I am 32 weeks and 3 days and from what I am reading c-sections are recommended around 35-36 weeks! but, the doc I saw was not helpful at all, had no answers and didn't call me back today. Just looking for some background info since there seems to be so little of it out there from respectable sources!
TIA!
Re: Diagnosed with Vasa Previa
What I know is that you are fortunate to have been diagnosed so that complications don't occur. Vasa Previa is a rare condition where fetal blood vessels cross the birth canal. They will do a c-section at or before 35 weeks, and many woman are hospitalized to reduce the risk.
Keep us updated, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
