I will be doing my first iui this month, my question is that at one point I was told I would take the Ovidrial injection, now 2 weeks out I'm told I will not. Did you take the injection? does it really matter? When I had my HSG test done my tubes were very open and the Dr stated I would still have the shot. Now the nurse told me no. Shoud I call back and say I want the shot or just do an ALL natual cycle with no type of assistance.
Re: Someone whose done IUI
I did do the ovidrel along with having done follistim. I also did an ovidrel booster 5 days after each IUI. The one advantage is with the ovidrel it closes in on the window of when you ovulate so that you can be more precise in timing the IUIs.
Good luck to you!

We have done IUI's with and without. If we were doing a medicated cycle we usually triggered. If you are doing a natural cycle you should surge on your own and not need the trigger.
Good Luck!
I have no help to offer - just wanted to say, in response to the lurker's suggestion to take this question elsewhere, that these kinds of questions 100% appropriate on this board, as many of us are now TTC or near TTC and going through many of the same things.
Especially because most posters on the TTC board will be straight and experiencing a different journey all together, and the Success after IF board is probably not the place for someone who will be inseminating for the first time.
Let's keep the baby making questions here, so we can continue to talk about our shared experience and learn from each other's questions!
And best of luck with your first IUI!! Let us know how it goes!

We are doing unmedicated. We are also using the theory that I don't have fertility problems until I do. The plan is to do 3 insems au natural and then do 3 with clomid if needed before going off to a RE if need be. Let's all hope we don't need to do that. Good Luck
7 of our 9 cycles were with it (all medicated cycles with the RE.) It makes the timing much more precise.
Good luck!
