Re: Huntsville is rated the safest city
What? Dothan? They need to watch the news there...I don't think it's very safe...I feel so much more safe in Auburn. We have only had I think 3 big random acts of violence/murders in the 5 permanent years I have lived here..
Hmm...have you ever gone to Montgomery? LOL! I'm from there and have no intentions of ever moving back!
Huntsville? Interesting. I don't think I would have pegged Dothan.
Montgomery scares the hell out of me.
Ooh, this reminded me. I called the main (HSV) library to see if they had this video in and they said it was at the Oscar Mason branch. I asked where that was and she told me around Mason Court. Lord, I said "no thanks" so fast. Not in this life.
Oh yeah, and I don't like it! I'm just surprised it's safer than Birmingham.
i know dothan has changed a lot since i moved out of it...but i never felt unsafe there...i always thought it was a great community and could definitely see why people move their to raise kids....
but i also guess since hubs was a dothan pd, i kind of felt like i knew more about the good parts and bad parts of the city....and never had much occasion to be in the bad parts....
but yeah, totally compared to birmingham or montgomery, these cities make sense to me....
I think growing up in Dothan I never really felt unsafe but now that I live in Auburn I see a big difference in crime here and crime there. There's definitley car break-ins mostly at apartment complexes, usually when there's things like purses, IPods, cash, etc. in plain view but for the most part that's about it here. Like I said, there have been only 3 murders/missing persons type cases I know for sure in the last 5 years but I really think it's more like in the last 10 years. I just don't know for sure about when I was in college. It's not like I think nothing bad could happen here or anything like that, it's just that for the most part Auburn is a safe place to live.
