Appliance question

Our water heater is near death.  I'm doing a bit of water heater research and I'm wondering if anyone has a tankless water heater?  Does it really never run out of hot water?  Any water heater advice?

Re: Appliance question

  • Glad you asked because this is next on our list of things to do.  Our water heater is in a closet in our living room (so stupid) and it had broke on the last owners and flooded the house.  Since we know the last owners, we know they didn't get a high quality one and the 5 yr war. has already passed.  We are thinking tankless will be the best rather than re-plumbing it out to the garage.  We are planning to start calling reps this weekend about estimates.  I will have to keep an eye on this if you get any advice!!

  • do you have electric heat?  we do and my husband did some research and in order for a tankless to work we would've had to re-do our wiring.  which obviously would've been way to expensive.

My husband says it doesn't run out of hot water but sometimes you do get a shot of cold water after someone takes a shower.  So its not continuous hot water.
