Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is only 2 weeks away and I was wondering if you ladies have any special plans for your first married V-Day?

I'm not sure what DH and I will do. V-Day falls on a Thursday, so we'll probably wait until the weekend to celebrate it. He's actually not working that weekend, which is rare. Maybe we'll go out for a nice dinner...we have a gift card for our favorite restaurant that we got for Christmas. Plus, being a few days after the holiday we won't have to pay the inflated V-Day prices : ) The past few years I've made dinner at home (shrimp scampi one year, steak with a red wine reduction the next year).

We'll probably do dinner at home that night or over the weekend. We're trying to save as much as we can because we're redoing our kitchen, repaving the driveway, and TTC.

We celebrate usually on the 26th of Feb that is our Dating anniversary (bonus we get v-gifts at discount lol) and engagement anniversary... this year DH bought us tickets to go see Celtic Woman I am so excited ...

 DH usually comes home with roses for me on Valentines day though.

Eh, I'd ok if I make a nice dinner.  Hoping Raven's win Sunday and I can order H a hoodie!

We'll celebrate that Friday, but I'm sure we'll do something together that actual day on Thursday, not sure what, though. But Friday, we'll do what we always do, and that's make home-made baked macaroni and cheese and watch a classic movie (it used to always be Casablanca.. but then we got sick of it, ha, so now we switch it up).

DH and i will probably have to celebrate the weekend before bc him and a bunch of his guy friends planned their yearly "man-cantion" for 2/13-2/18 up in VT where they snowboard, eat, drink, act like fools, etc....

I made plans with my sister (whose husband will be with my DH) to go see Safe Haven, get lunch and go shopping since i just got a call from the school district i was let go from that they need me for a leave replacement starting 2/19 until the end of the year and i need dress maternity clothes=)

H made reservations at a great Italian place that we love!  I'm pretty excited.  We were originally thinking about going to a bed and breakfast in a nearby town, but the rates are ridiculous!  It was going to be almost $600 for two nights just for the room!

We're not planning anything special. H works on weekends and I'm going OOT to visit a friend for the weekend, so we'll definitely celebrate either on Valentine's night or the night or two before. We won't do anything really nice, but we've been thinking of trying a restaurant we've never been to before. Haven't made too many plans!

The venue where we got married is doing a dinner and dancing evening the 15th.  Our good friends also got married there so we are thinking of doing a double date to where we got married!  That evening will be our Valentines Day "gift".  My birthday is 2 weeks later and we got tickets to my fav band (Bon Jovi!!!), show is 4 hours away so spending the weekend away for that :-)

I hate to be a party pooper, but H and I have a mutual dislike for Valentine's Day and don't really celebrate it. We haven't discussed it yet, but I imagine that if we do anything, it'll just be dinner and maybe a movie. We don't exchange gifts...Christmas shopping for each other is hard enough!

We usually don't do much for bdays or Vday.....just going out to dinner.  I think we will just go to dinner, then we will come back and watch our wedding video.  Our friends taped the ceremony, etc and are converting the video for us, especially since my great grandma and grandpa couldn't make it. Since I'll be going back to IA to visit them in March, I want to watch our wedding with my husband for the first time, so I figured Valentine's Day would be a good time to do it!  I'm excited!

I work that night, so we will probably celebrate over he following weekend. I already gave him his valentines gift because I was excited about it, but hopefully we will go out to dinner to celebrate a bit too

We are probably going to see a kiddie movie that opens on Vday and maybe go to a gourmet burger place.  I've planned a belated birthday weekend for the 15-17 so that's kind of our valentine's day.
