Re-decorating to Gray Bedroom - paint suggestions?

We are redecorating our bedroom as we recently upgraded to a king size bed.  In a pinch, I was able to find the gray comforter below that we like.  Any suggestions for paint colors to match?  We have a relatively small room, maybe 13x10.  Would a dark gray similar to the coverlet be too dark for a smaller room to paint on one wall?  Eventually I wanted a purple/gray theme - would a paint with purple undertones clash with this?  I tend to not like the blues.   Haven't had too much experience with redecorating so any suggestions you might have would be great Smile

Re: Re-decorating to Gray Bedroom - paint suggestions?

  • I just used Behr Silver Drop in a room.  It's really light, though.  Actually it's the exact same gray color as the sheetrock was before I primed it.  Guess all the time working in there before it was painted really made an impression.  :)

  • maybe a very very light pale pink? I'm sure if you add a paint that has a hint of color it will look nice if you add decorative pillows that incorporate the color. Grey is easy to work with.

If you are looking for a purple and grey bedroom, go with a nice purple tone.  You could even go with a kind of deep purple/grey color and have little accents with a light purple to go with.  I haven't done it before, but I have heard that if you have a small space, sometimes if you go dark, it will help make the room a little more dramatic.  I have a grey/purple comforter with light purple/blue pillows, the walls are grey, bed frame is a dark wood color.  I love it and have put up a large mirror to help kind of expand the look of the wall.  Good luck, go to the store and grab a bunch of samples and see what speaks to you.  Its fun to paint, its amazing how much it livins up your place.  :)
