Will you share a pic of your living room?
I'm looking for ways to make our living room more "cozy". We have a leather couch and hardwood floors. I look at other living rooms and I feel they are inviting. Ours seems cold and uninviting. Just trying to get inspiration, see what I can add to make it more comfortable.
Thank yoU!
Re: Will you share a pic of your living room?
I don't have a picture right now, but in my opinion, three things make a living room inviting: rugs (on hardwood), cozy pillows, and nice, lamp lighting.
Do you have a picture of your LR? Maybe we could offer suggestions on your specific space.
A warm paint color, rugs, curtains. And PP was definitely right about good lamp lighting - overhead lighting can kill a space. We could give you some suggestions if we saw your space. And here's how curtains should be hung:

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I agree with what others said. It could just be that you haven't added your 'touch' to the room yet with lighting and accessories.
Posting a photo would be helpful so that we can actually see the space and provide suggestions.
Do a google image search or use pinterest and houzz.com to see photos of other spaces. try to see what the 'cozy' ones have in common. do they use warmer paint colors on the wall? incorporate greenery or live plants/flowers? have fuzzy or more textured rugs? use pillows and blankets around the room? etc?
