  • Snacks
    Hey, Hey Hockeytown!photo hockeytown_zps6a7377b0.jpg
  • We were asked to bring snacks to the superbowl party we went to yesterday.  I'm awful proud of the bowl I made out of chex mix :)  I posted a pic on FB even!

But as usual we made way too much stuff.  We left a ton of it with the hosts, but also brought home a ton, so now we have lots of yummy stuff at the house to snack on!

  • I need to start eating better....ugh its SO hard when I have no desire to cook/pack lunches/or read a nutrition label!

I'm hoping to get some good grocery shopping in later this week. My go-to  "good for me" snacks include:

Fruit (whatevers on sale or in season)

    Hummus & crackers

    String cheese,

    Fiber one bars

    Popcorn

    Almonds

I'm sure there are more but its been a while since I've eaten healthy...

I saw that!  It was AWESOME!!

My sister was visiting recently with her 18 month old, so I stocked the pantry/fridge with Goldfish, Animal Crackers, Teddy Grahams, string cheese, etc.  and I've been eating it all since they left Embarrassed

But normally I try to have some healthy snacks around because I eat like a pig and will eat whatever is easiest to get to.  I still eat string cheese a lot because I'm a child, but I like English cucumbers a lot, and anything with avocado, or oatmeal is pretty easy, or fruit, we keep a lot of fruit in the house.

Another bad indulgence I've recently discovered is this mint gelato from the grocery store.  o....m....g!  It's hidden away on the top shelf of the freezer, and it's kind of expensive, but I got this pint of Mediterranean Mint, and it's SO heavenly.  I also have a leftover sleeve of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies I've been saving in my freezer, so I dip those in the gelato and it's one of the most amazing things EVER!

  • The chex mix bowl was actually not too hard.  A little frustration with the shaping, but now that I've done it, I think it'll be easier next time. I got the recipe here:

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/super-bowl-recipe/index.html

It got rave reviews at the party.  We filled it with a mixture of Chex mix and M&Ms.

ANYTHING with M&Ms is wonderful!  Love this idea....

  • I started WW at the beginning of Jan (and have lost 14lbs...woot!woot!) so most of my snacks have been consisting of fruits and veggies as their 0pts. I've also been munching on baked pita chips and mini rice cakes.

    *they're 0pts.(facepalm)

You're doing awesome!!! I love WW...I'm a lifetime member...but I haven't been to a meeting in a while and I'm FAR from my goal weight. I'm considering going back soon to at least get my eating habits back on track.

  • Goldfish are great and honestly they aren't that bad for you. String cheese is a good one and peanut butter and crackers. I love Pringles and 100 calorie packs.
  • My go-to snacks recently have been string cheese, popcorn, and granola bars.

  • My go to snack is anything you can put peanut butter or nutella on. Which is basically everything, I don't limit myself to the "norm." I even put peanut butter on granola bars. Double bonus if you can put nutella AND peanut butter on it.

     It's a sickness, really. I need intervention.

  • I've been trying to make better snack choices my go to's lately are:

    sting cheese

fruit - we splurged and ordered a box of those honeybells from QVC, they are amazing!

    almonds

and I have a new found obsession with laughing cow mini baybel cheeses esp the sharp chedder.

Congrats!  My favorite healthyish snacks are bananas, greek yogurt, almonds, and string cheese.

My favorite unhealthy snacks are doritos and ice cream.  (and, when on a road trip, I'm a fan of combos).
