Hi there! I just started my 2nd trimester and, as I'm sure many of you are, I've been eating constantly, however it's hard to get full and sometimes I get headaches if I don't eat enough. I'm eating healthy, as well as some comfort carbs

I just need ideas of food that you eat that keeps you FULL for a bit. All suggestions are welcome! Thank you!
Re: Food to Get Full
protein (meat, fish, nuts, beans) tends to keep you fuller longer since it takes longer for the body to break it down. Though i've never been pregnant, I have heard friends say that their doctors told them to eat more protein for development reasons.
perhaps consult with your doc to make sure you're getting the proper nutrients, and then explain your headaches and see if that might be a solution.

I was also thoroughly confused by that. Maybe she thought she was posting on the bump?
"What's Cooking?" is one of the Nest Boards that is on the sidebar over on TB.
This makes sense now. I was thinking maybe I should go get a pregnancy test...lol.
Anyways, op, I agree with the previous posters: eat more protein. Try almonds, peanut butter, etc. when you don't want meat.

Ah, that makes so much more sense, lol.
Beans! Red meat if your iron is low.
Heavy vegetables like sweet potatoes and squash do it for me, too. I was the same way in my second trimester. Get full, but you will still need to eat between meals to stop getting headaches. You also need to stay hydrated. I carried carby drinks to work like Gatorade or Powerade, which helped a lot. I also always had a bag of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish or pretzels on my desk or in my bag, to munch on during the day. I had low blood pressure and needed the salt. If your job doesn't allow for you to snack constantly like that, protein bars or fiber bars that you can shove down on a bathroom break are supposed to be good for holding you over, and easy to conceal!
Ultimately, I would still hit rock bottom and get a headache about half an hour before lunch no matter what I did. I alleviated it by drinking a half cup of coffee, even though I am not a caffiene drinker. It helped tremendously! When it was really bad, I would take Tylenol with the coffee.
On the bright side, my headaches went away around 24 weeks, and yours probably will too and get replaced by some other uncomfortable symptom like swollen feet or something. Heads up, though, I'm weird-- 2nd trimester was the worst for me! 1st was a little queasy, but with the headaches, dizziness, and back pain of 2nd trimester, it was the pits! I DREADED my last trimester, thinking it would get worse, but I'm 33 weeks and so far, my third trimester has been the best of all by far!! Hoping the same for you!
