How much do you pay for dog boarding?

We have a fantastic daycare type place for boarding, but the $40 price tag per night, per dog seems a little high to us. We're in a relatively low cost of living area, as well.

Just wondering what other people pay for quality boarding, and I figured the folks here would do their research and not just dump their dog at the cheapest place possible.

Thanks!

Re: How much do you pay for dog boarding?

  • We pay $15/dog/day and we have two dogs so $30 a day. It is a great place where they get a lot of attention and aren't afraid to go to. We also live in a LCOL area (Northern Michigan).

  • I'm in Boston, and our boarding facility (run by the same company that walks our dogs) is $98/night for 2 dogs (it's $65 for the first dog and 1/2 that for the second).  There are places that charge less in the area, but this is the only place that I trust, particularly since they walk my dogs 5 days a week and know them very well.  The facility is also very convenient to my house (and they offer pick-up and drop off for a small fee) and is quite new (built and opened exactly 2 years ago).

  • We pay $40/night. There are places that are less expensive but the dogs aren't kenneled and someone is with them 24 hours. The dog loves it there and we feel really good leaving him.

  • Our boarder charges 30 or so dollars a night, but my H usually does an upgrade that includes one on one play time, a special Kong treat, and sometimes she even an ice cream treat before bed (he spoils the sh*t out of our pooch) which brings it around 40. I'm in the Philadelphia area.

  • we use Petsmart Petshotel, $25/dog/night, any additional dog in the same run is i think 25% off that price, up to 3 dogs.

  • It is $35 a night for a doggy daycare type of place.
  • We boarded our Golden Retriever puppy for 2 nights in December for $58/night.  It seemed high to us, but it was a very nice facility and we felt comfortable with all of the things that were included in the price.
