Do you wear slippers?
my read shelf:
Re: QOTD 2/7
In the morning, I have slippers, and at night I wear big, warm fuzzy sock/booties. H makes fun of me, but my feet are always freezing.
This is only in the winter, I'm bare foot in the warmer months.
I wear slippers when I am cooking. Its a linoleum floor with concrete under it. There rest of our place is carpet. DH got me these sock type things for Christmas this year. They have these inserts that you put in the microwave to heat them up. They are delightful on days when my feet get really cold.
I don't have slippers, but I am a fan of fuzzy socks in the winter.
The rest of the year, I'm barefoot in the house
When people come over and complain about how cold it is I actually show them my electric/gas bill. My house it a split 2 story (meaning 4 half stories, if that makes sense) and my bill has never been more than $150 for gas and electric. And that $150 was after we took on a roommate. People are always shocked by how little we pay.
WHOA! Last winter was our first winter in the house. At 68, our bill was almost $350! Gas is heat only, stove etc in on the electric! Now that we've been there a year, I signed up for the budget and we pay $115 monthly.
I'm with you, Snuff. I hate socks.
Sometimes, but i always have socks on in the winter bc as PPs have stated about the temp of their houses, ours is set to 62 (sometimes 64) during the day and 60 at night, our house is only 2 years old so it holds heat well and when people come over (like my sister who keeps her house at 78-80) and complain its cold i tell them to put on a sweater. I also feel like when the house is that hot i cant breathe.
Every once in a while i will throw on slippers that my grandma's friend made, they are knitted and super comfy, i cant sleep with socks on however, i will be in flannel pants and 2 shirts but i just cant sleep in socks!
Sometimes but rarely. I'd rather wear socks...and even then, it's only really when I'm cold. And I still don't like it that much because I might step on something wet like water that drips from my dogs' mouth and I cannot STAND when my socks get wet. I'm usually barefoot in the house.
I'm surprised at how cold some of you keep your house! Haha. Being in SoCal, it doesn't ever get that cold...but to me if our house gets below 74, it feels freezing to me. I'm sure our electric bill is kinda high. I don't even know what we pay because H handles it.
