Furniture consignment shops in the South Hills?
Hi All,
We bought a new coffee table and end tables for our living room, and I want to sell the old ones. DH doesn't want to sell them on Craigslist because he's not comfortable having strangers come to the house (I guess I can't blame him). I"m thinking taking them to a consignment shop. There's one up the street from us, but they take 50% of the sale price. That seems awfully high to me. Does anyone have any experience selling items at a furniture consignment store? I'm looking for recommendations and maybe some pointers. Thanks!
Re: Furniture consignment shops in the South Hills?
I would expect any consignment shop is going to take a big cut of your profits. They are paying overhead for the space after all. There is another store along south park road... where the trolley crosses over just past the intersection by Pasta 2 on the left. I am not sure of the name, but if I pass it in the next couple days I will be sure to let you know.
ETA- Lyss, this is the one I was trying to remember the name of. I have never been in there, but from the site it looks like they also take half of the profits of the sale. http://www.serendipitylaneconsign.com/index.html
