Hi.
I was hoping to get some help from nesties on this board. I will be coming to New Jersey (specifically Flanders) for a friend's wedding in July.
Since my friend will not be going on her honeymoon until the end of the year, the other bridesmaid and I wanted to treat her and her hubby to a nice hotel room for the night. I have been trying to look online for hotels that would be nice and not too far away.
I would appreciate anyone that could offer advice on what hotels would be nice and not too far away for this occasion.
thanks.

Re: Hotel Recommendations?
That is a really nice idea.
My H and I like to visit Bungalow Hotel in Long Branch. We usually go one night in the winter and go to the hibachi restaurant nearby, because it's more expensive in the summer. But if you're going in on it as a group gift, it might be a good option for your gift. It's a boutique hotel without true amenities, but it's in a development called Pier Village that has a cool wine bar, a few restaurants, shops, and a breakfast place. It's right near the beach, so if they went in the summer, there would be more to do. I'm not sure what the status of everything is after Hurricane Sandy but I'm sure with a phone call you could find out. It's probably an hour drive for them, but a nice, private getaway. The rooms are really unique and the hotel is really private and modern. It's a little out of the ordinary and would make for a nice mini moon memory.
I just re-read your post before submitting this one and it sounds like you might mean the night of the wedding. If that's what you mean, I don't recommend this. But the wedding day is so busy that this might be nice a day or two later to relax and enjoy.
