I have a pixie cut (think Anne Hathaway at the Golden Globes), and I want to have long hair (between my shoulder and boob)...(I have serious hair ADD). How long does my hair have to be to get hair extensions that aren't crazy-hard to blend in with my natural hair?
Re: Pixie, hair extensions?
The longer your hair, the more natural it will look. When your hair is about 4-5 inches long you can convincingly add extensions but only if the color is absolutely perfect. You will probably not be able to find such a match at Sally's Beauty supply and I would recommend visiting a salon. You want Remy hair, as this refers to the quality. Remy hair would mean that they ensured that the cuticle is lying in the right direction. This is a must so that your hair does not tangle and become unruly and frizzy.
I have extremely short hair (about 2 inches long on the sides and 5-6 inches long on the top of my head, picture a grown out mohawk) and I am able to blend my hair into extensions, but I am a professional hairstylist and it does take a bit of time to ensure that it is perfect. I would suggest trying it out though, as extensions are a fun option.
