Am I Going To Have a Big Baby?
Obviously I'm happy to be having her any way I can get her, but I'd like to keep around the 7.5 pound range for the sake of my lady bits. I had my 32 week appointment today (32 weeks tomorrow) and my belly was measuring at 34/35 weeks so they did another ultrasound and checked my cervix. I'm still completely closed and that all looks good. So then we get to the ultrasound and I'm measuring about a day or two ahead of my due date which would make perfect sense. They also confirmed that it's really a girl so I can feel guilt free washing my girly stuff, she also takes after me and is very stubborn as we tried to get a good face shot and she kept her arm over her face. When they did the weight they said she was a little over 4 lbs, not alarming or bad but on the higher end. So, do I have a chance of her evening out and sticking closer to the 7.5 range or am I looking at a 9-10 pounder?
Re: Am I Going To Have a Big Baby?
You definitely have a chance that she'll be around 7.5 lbs. The estimations can be off for the belly measurement based on baby's position. And the u/s measurement is still just an estimate as well. I believe that the expected growth at this point is 1/2 a pound a week, so it will truly just depend on how far you get in your pregnancy.
FWIW - Kaitlyn "weighed" 4 lbs at my 32w u/s and was right on track with gaining 1/2 a pound a week. I was expecting an 8-9 pound baby, but had her at 36w, so she ended up being 6lb 4oz.
