Baby's First Year - what to write? Need inspiration.
Hi there,
I'm putting together a photobook to display at Gabe's birthday party. I wanted to include a page of text - but I'm having trouble deciding what to include.
I was not very good about writing down dates that he did certain things - but I have a rough idea of when he started (like 3 months, 6 months) doing different things.
I thought about a list of favorite things - but all I got was food and cruising on furniture.
Help! Give me some inspiration. You ladies are usually so creative.

A friend made a chalk board with "favorites" on it for her daughter's first birthday/photos.
Here are some things she listed:
Favorite book
Weight/Height
Nickname
Favorite toy
How many teeth
I just searched and I think she may have actually bought the chalkboard on Etsy -- <<click>> . That might help with ideas with what they have listed on the different boards.
I like the poem idea! I do write intro letters for the kids' books, but I don't recall what I put in them really and Shutterfly's site is down
I think I basically summarize what happened over the course of the year.
I did track some of the milestones for Wes, but only b/c I forgot to do it with Lanna! I also add in little tidbits throughout the book -- like favorite things, things they don't like, details about our vacation (where we went, what we did there), holidays (what they got, what we did to celebrate), birthday parties (what we ate, who was there), that kind of thing. I also keep a Word doc where I try to record record funny things they say and then weave them into their books, b/c you think you'll remember how they used to say "apple spauce" instead of applesauce, but it's surprising how quickly you forget as time goes on.
I was just thinking this the other day. The stuff you think you'll remember forever starts to go away.
