Air brush

I just got my new airbrush make up machine last night. I had fun playing with it this morning on my babysitter. I didn't realize airbrush make up was such a demand for weddings. I have turned away 4 brides because I did not offer it. Did anyone here get airbrush or professional make up on your wedding and what did you think?

Re: Air brush

  • I didn't get it but I thought about it.  I probably would have if my wedding had been local and I could have done a trial run with the make up person.  Since I didn't have time for a trial at our destination I just opted for regular make up.

  • Yes, I had it done and I loved it.

Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.

  • I know airbrush is great quality but sometimes I think people will not pay the price.
  • I didn't get it for my wedding.  But I didn't want to pay for it.  I was in a wedding where the bride did it.  I didn't think it looked that special to me.Congrats!  I am sure lots of ladies will be booking with you now!
  • I have already booked 18 weddings for 2013. I did not want to turn away business which is the main reason I got it. It seems so simple to do. Hopefully I will meet more prestigious clients by offering it.

    We just did regular makeup.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this just seems like another one of those things where some bridal magazine says you have to have this and if your makeup professional doesn't offer this then you need to look elsewhere.

  • I did not. Funny story- I actually ended up having to do it myself. My makeup person was snowed in, but she had left the makeup and instructions at my house the night before the wedding just in case.

I would never have considered having airbrush makeup. I don't think it is that much different, but there are some brides that want what they want. I hope that it brings you more clients.

  • Honestly, I've seen air brush make-up on shows like Toddlers and Tiaras, but never even considered it for myself. I can definitely see the appeal of it though. I did my own make-up, since I rarely wear any anyway. But I can definitely see why someone would want it though :)

If you don't mind me asking, how much does it usually run for and how much are you going to charge? I think it sounds like a fantastic addition for you

  • I am still trying to figure out cost. I was originally going to charge $100 but average in my area is about $175 for on location air brush. It just seems so expensive or maybe it's just me who could not justify spending that kind of money on myself.
