Warning, this may be TMI for some and I apologize for that!...
Our cat who is about 2 years old has been having some issues lately. She goes to the bathroom in the litter box, but often has poo that gets stuck on her behind afterwards. Sometimes it is solid and falls on the floor afterwards and sometimes it is not and is smeared on her fur. I had her tested for worms and any other issues, but it all came back clear. I feed her Wellness dry and wet food, which she loves. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if I should consider changing her food. TIA!

I have a short haired cat, and he ca't seem to finish pinching off his poo to save his life. I'm not joking. It seems like half the time he ends up dropping a small piece of poo either just outside the box or outside the room the box is in. He gets fed a raw food diet and is otherwise healthy, so I don't know why he has this issue.
I agree with PP if you have a long haired cat. She still may occasionally get a small piece stuck and it will fall on the floor. It happens. I don't think it would be food issue unless her poo seems too soft. My next guess is that she's rushing to get out of the box before her business is done. Do you clean the box every day and in a relatively quiet and private space? If you don't have a covered box, you might try getting one and see if that makes a difference. It gives the cat more privacy and also doesn't allow them to jump out so quickly after going...unless it's my cat, who catapults himself through the entry as soon as he's done.
If her poo is a little soft, you might try looking into a food switch. Even high quality foods may not agree with every pet, so finding the one that works best for her should be the goal.I'd avoid shaving her. She's already a short-hair, so it's likely simething else.

Hmm... I agree with maybe trying a new food. I tried EVO on my cats once and it was just too rich - poops never stayed firm. Wellness is a great food but maybe too rich for your cat? You probably just have to switch the dry. In my experience anyway, the wet didn't matter as much as the dry in that department. I have had good luck with California Naturals, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, and Wysong, but I'm sure it will depend on your cat.
Good luck!
