sooo bored

Hi everyone!

My husband and I got married in June, I love him so much and am very happy to be married but lately I'm a little bored! It's my own fault because I don't have enough hobbies =( I pretty much consider myself a house wife at this point because I am currently a substitute teacher.  I work every day but I'm not going to lie, my job is very easy and I'm done by 2:30ish every day! Honestly it's not very mentally engaging and I'm trying to cook, clean and read more but it's just not cutting it! I graduated from college and then spent the next year planning the wedding so I guess now I am just adjusting to married life and not having something specific to work toward.  Anyway I guess I'm just asking if anyone has suggestions for hobbies etc. so I'm not just sitting around looking to my hubby for entertainment all the time...thanks =)

Re: sooo bored

  • I'm in a similar boat without any real hobbies of my own (though we're both in school with side jobs). I used to like knitting and have put it down in recent years - maybe you can try something like that?

DH and I are also thinking about trying out some ballroom dance classes in the area, and thought about cooking classes, until we realized they were out of our budget. Are there any classes like that in your area?

  • no problem! Some of the cheapest options here are clubs at a my university - many don't require you to be a student. Good luck!

  • Perhaps you should find more activities and interests to fill your time?
  • My DH works alot and odd hours since he is a cop. A year ago a friend dragged me to a zumba class and now im hooked.  I was shocked at how much better i felt about myself after i found a hobby i really enjoyed.   We also wound up getting a dog over the summer that fills alot of my free time too.

  • Awesome! So I will take a cooking class and make fattening food and then go to zumba to counter the calories =)

  • Is getting a full time job/career out of the question for you?  Maybe getting a job that takes up more of your time would be a good idea, perhaps?
