Is anyone else TTC?

First, congratulations to the new and expectant parents.

Is anyone else now TTC?  If so, how long have you been at it.

We have been TTC since March, when I stopped taking BCPs and had regular cycles almost immediately.

Unfortunately, we learned there may be a serious male factor involved where our only option for children is through IVF.

Re: Is anyone else TTC?

  • Sorry to hear that y'all are having trouble TTC. What is your next step? We are going to start trying around the first of the year. Good luck!

  • Sorry to hear that McFree.  I recommend going to the Trouble TTC room. They are very supportive and know a lot more than the getting pregnant board.  We are TTA for another 8 or 9 months, but I recently found out that I do not produce enough progesterone -- so I can relate to how you feel.  Not knowing if you'll get pregnant can be difficult.  There are a lot of successes with IVF and I recomend going to a class that tells you all the steps.
  • I often go to the Trouble TTC board, in fact now daily.  It is heartening to see the supportive, caring community formed by people who might not recognize each other's faces.  I am struck by the pain and suffering some couples have to endure and the resilience and ability to stay positive under very difficult circumstances.

Our next move is for my husband to have a semen analysis and go from there based on the results.

MrsH2You,  If/when you want to conceive, are progesterone supplements a possibility?  I know the PIO shots are unpleasant, but if they allow a healthy pregnancy to occur/continue it's worth it.

  • Actually, I am going to go on progesterone even though we aren't TTC. I have to confirm one more ovulation (should be next week) and then I will call the doctor for an appointment to talk about progesterone options. I know there are different forms of the medication.  It's a huge problem for me b/c I start spotting with O and continue spotting for 20 days!  It's horrible.  I basically am off my period for only 5 to 7 days.  BC isn't an option b/c doc says I shouldn't suppress O.  I'm staying really positive about the whole thing.  Doc says he's not worried either, but in August we'll have to start right off with fertility probably clomid and injections.  I haven't been on the Nest much lately, but when I first found things out TTTC was very helpful even though I was just reading posts. Keep me posted on your DH. Male Factor is more common than you think.
