I wanted to see how your BFing/pumping was going with your oversupply issues. I am at a point where she isn't emptying me and I am having to pump more to relieve engorgement. I know you were there early and just wanted to see how things have been going.

After 31 cycles and two losses, we've been blessed with a healthy baby girl!
Congrats to both of my amazing TTC Buddies, tdmd09 and sb2006!!

Re: BSD
I pretty much stopped pumping for now because I really wanted to get my supply to match his needs. It is much better at this point, but a bit erratic. My letdown is also a bit fast still- when I manually express it can squirt out even when I'm not full, but thankfully it stopped spraying without me doing anything. He also still chokes and coughs from time to time while BF, but it isn't nearly as bad as before. However, now that the supply is more where it should be Evan is getting fussier- he gets mad when he thinks it is too slow, but if I go pump I can get at least 2 ounces. Hopefully he gets used to it. He tends to jerk his head around while still latched which is extremely painful. At the next LLL meeting I go to I'm going to ask how I'm supposed to handle that.
Have you tried using cabbage instead of pumping for engorgement? I think you can sometimes get into a vicious cycle of pumping because of oversupply which causes supply to increase. Although might not be so bad if you are going to be storing to go back to work. I'm home for now so I'm not too worried about storing it. Plus I'm not completely opposed to supplementing with formula when needed.
To make you feel my love.
