We have hardwoods throughout our house and at first I loved them. Now it's feeling a bit cold and dull. I'm considering putting an area rug under our queen-sized bed, but anyone have tips on how big to go? How far should it extend? Or will this look dumb regardless? TIA!
Re: Area rug under bed?
I have hardwood too in most rooms of my house, and one of the things that drives me nuts is getting dust bunnies out from under my bed, since I'm a clean freak and would have to do it all the time. Putting an area rug is a good idea for that too!
The area rug should extend somewhat out from under the bed. If it's a smaller rectangular rug, try putting it horizontal under the bed, but just the bottom half of the bed.
If it's a larger rug, just made sure it's in the middle of the room.
It's kinda hard to judge since I don't know how your room is set up, but you could take a sheet or fabric and pretend its a rug and lay it on your floor to get some idea before you spend the money on a rug?
