Spring Planting

Anyone planning on planting anything this spring? I always want to but I have the blackest thumb in the world. I will try starting the seeds, they will grow and then somehow I kill them. I contemplated getting a garden outside but saw an easy solution on Pinterest where you take a bookshelf and just flip it on its back and use it as a garden! Must cheaper solution than a $100 garden box.

Re: Spring Planting

  • I was thinking about this on Friday. My house looks so boring right now with nothing alive outside. I really wanted to have some color outside when we put the house on the market. We have brown wood siding now and its boring out there right now.

I guess I cant complain. The petunias I had planted in on the front porch lasted until after Christmas.

  • I'll be doing basil again this year.  My dad has a huge garden with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash etc.  eventually I'd like to do something but I'd have to make a raised garden too since we are so rocky.  I do have 3 blueberry bushes...

Do you make stuff with the blueberries?

When they are fresh I eat like a pint a day at my desk... I LOVE BLUEBERRIES!  Then when I get sick of them I start freezing them.  I make muffins, pancakes, but my new obession is this for oatmeal:

I'm trying to clean out my freezer for next year's batch, and to start freezer meals...

  • PS All my blueberries are from my dad's 3 bushes that are 20 years old.  My little guys only produce a handful right now...
