Atlantic City Recs

So I think we've finally decided we're going to go to Atlantic City for one night for a bachelorette party. Does anyone have any recs of activities, restaurants, bars, etc? Also any hotel recs where we would be centrally located would be great. Thanks!

Re: Atlantic City Recs

  • I've only been to AC once, but we stayed at the Borgata and I loved it. We went to see a concert, so we did that, had dinner and gambled. There were a bunch of restaurants to choose from and a couple of night clubs (that we didn't go in). The Borgata is not on the main drag, but we had a car so we drove to the boardwalk during the day and walked around. We only stayed one night.

  • Personally, I think the Borgata is the nicest hotel in AC.  Tropicana isn't so bad either but it's absolutely enormous.  For dinner, I highly recommend The Continental.  It's fantastic.  Like PP said, the Borgata has a lot of really good places to eat too.

  • To add to the Borgata (which has the best buffet!), you can now place bets from your room! Stick out tongue

But, if you're looking to stay on the boardwalk side, Ceasars, Bally's, and Trump Plaza are pretty nice and clean.  They're centrally located and each have their own entertainment available inside too in case you don't want to leave the hotel.  You could go to a comedy show, hypnotist, caberet, concert...they pretty much have those shows in all the major hotels.

If you're looking to go shopping, there is the old steel pier that's connected to Ceasars and sits out on the beach/in the water.  Lots of high end shops and restaurants.  There's also the outlets called "The Walk" with tons of stores.  It's across from the Convention Center pretty much right over the bridge when you come in off 40.  That could be a fun outting too during the day if you're looking to pass time.

If this is your first time going, just consider that cost of your hotel room is all relative to how long you're actually going to spend in the room.  I imagine if you're going for a night, especially for a Bparty, you're looking to get out and do as much as possible.  So spending more for a room may not be necessary.

Oh, and I just read that one of the Trumps is in the process of being sold right now and I can't remember if it's Taj Mahal or the Plaza, but supposedly it will also bring renovations.  Not sure when you're going.
