Birth Control and Headache

Hi,
I have been off the pill since Sunday and for the past two days ,I have had a migraine. Has anyone had this problem, once they got off the pill ?

Keep an eye on that migraine. If you experience any vision loss or blurry vision or weakness on any side of your body, get to an ER immediately.
If your blood pressure is high, this warning goes double.GL.
I had this problem and it only got worse the longer I was on BCP. I have since switched to the Paragard (non-hormonal) IUD and the headaches/migraines have decreased significantly.
When I went for my annual eye exam, they dilated my pupils and found that the optic nerve was swollen (can lead to blindness). Upon meeting with specialists and going over my headache history, it was determined that some medications can affect people differently and this one caused increased cranial pressure (in turn, causing optic nerve swelling). It's treatable but still very scary.
My point is, these headaches aren't something to take lightly. Get to your OB, talk to your family doc and get an eye exam. Switching medications, non-hormonal options, and continuous monitoring is very necessary.
