This first hotel on the water that came to mind was the Quality Inn in Lee. www.qualityinn.com/hotel-lee-massachusetts-MA177 If you & your H like Indian food the BEST Indian restaurant in the Berkshires is attached.
If you'd be willing to stay somewhere else and make a trip to the lake I could give you a TON of suggestions. We got married at the Orchards Hotel in Williamstown and it would be a great place for a romantic weekend

What are you and your H into for fun? Museums? Outdoorsy stuff? I could give you some ideas or maybe an area of the Berkshires that would be fun.
Re: *Mona*
Thank you!
I wouldn't mind not being right on a lake, but would probably want to be within 15 minutes of one.
We like outdoorsy stuff- I love jet skiing and being on any sort of boat. We like hiking too (or just taking a nice walk somewhere pretty, haha).
We're not big on art museums, but we do enjoy science or natural history museums.
But I honestly wouldn't mind just "beach-bumming" it for the weekend and eating at yummy restaurants. Though I am concerned about the possibility of rain, so having a couple indoor options would be nice.
And I feel like this didn't narrow it down at all, haha
I would recommend a place in Pittsfield then. It's in the central Berkshires so if you want to make a trip to the North or South it's not that far.
If you're into B&Bs the White Horse is really nice. If you just want a hotel the Crowne Plaza is downtown and within walking distance to some awesome restaurants and a new movie theater.
If Mt. Greylock is open it's definitely worth checking out, especially on a nice day you can see to NH. There's also the Natural Bridge in North Adams. Monument Mt is very hikeable too. One of the local ski areas, Jiminy Peak has an adventure park every summer, but I can't remember when it opens. That's a lot of fun! You can also still take the lifts to the top of the mountain.
I would definitely recommend an afternoon on the Rail Trail. It runs right along the lakes and it's gorgeous! There are also a ton of boat rental options on Pontousooc lake both motorized and canoes/kayaks.
If the weather's not nice, the Berkshires is loaded with museums, but they're mostly art or historical. The Berkshire Museum is a mix of art and science, but it's pretty kid oriented. Hancock Shaker Museum is pretty neat and has a working farm. Depending on when you come up in May you might be able to catch the baby animals they have every spring.
I hope that helps!
You could also look into Lake George.
H and I went to Lake George for the first time last summer. LOVED it. (but then again, we love mini-golf, and there was plenty of that around!!) Turns out a friend of mine from HS actually owns a B&B there, so I made H stay in one, even though he's not really a fan usually.
We also spent an afternoon doing our own little bar crawl down the main strip. Met some fantastic people (and they let us playcards/drinking games, haha).
The highlight was when we went Stand-Up Paddleboarding. We've been on the Farmington River, but in a very flat section, so going on Lake George was amazing.
