Update - I survived

For those of you who followed my sister-moving-in story, it's March 1st which means that I survived the month! If only I could celebrate with a beer. My cleaners just got here, so I am a happy person right now beer or no beer.

Some fun tidbits for ya'll from the month:

- One night, while feeling hot, she took it upon herself to open her bedroom window with no screens and left for the night. DH and I found said window open before we went to bed and went ballistic, fearing what she might have done to our heating bill and the fact that our cats could have fallen/jumped to their deaths.

- Just earlier this week left the house at 7:30am for work and left the fridge open (YES WIDE OPEN), luckily DH and I were both home and we found it at 10am.  So we had 2 1/2 hours of our fridge just hanging open.  After this incident, said once we get the electric bill she will need to pay us money, end of story.

- Got into a screaming match at a bar in South Philly about her financial dependency on my parents cause she claims she has no money, yet received at least 3-4 packages to my house of *** she ordered online. But my parents defend her and my Mom happened to be there that night AND defended her. Indifferent

- And the best one of all, two weeks ago she spilled caprese salad and penne vodka in 3 separate places in the room (and all over her/our sheets), did not tell us, and HID IT.  We found it a day later when I noticed oil stains on the carpet and went batshitcrazy.  There was a string of lies, I kicked her out, DH felt bad so he convinced her to stay so she could "make it up to me and earn my trust back." So while I almost beat the living sh!t out of her, I reluctantly allowed her to stay since DH wanted her to, and we enforced a strict no food/no beverage in her room policy.

As I write this, I see chinese food drippings on my coffee table from her takeout last night and I still am feeling ragey.

That was my month!  Cheers to March!

Re: Update - I survived

  • Glad it's over!  Now, the cleaners can tend to the house and you and the husband can live like normal people again!  ohhhhh.....family :)  Enjoy your week end!
  • Glad to see you survived! My FIL does the same exact thing when he is here... he leaves his bedroom window wide open in the middle of the winter and never closes it. It makes me so freaking angry.

  • The cleaners would be cleaning blood stains out of the carpet if I were you. You are a saint.

There is no explanation to how her brain functions. It's part ADD, part laziness, part moron.

  • Oh god, Jewels, congrats on making it through.  I'm convinced there's no one you can love more or want to smack harder than a sibling.
