Hey all...question from a lurker if you don't mind! I'm the matron of honor in my sisters wedding at the end of August. DH and I are TTC starting in May. IF I get super lucky and it happens that 1st cycle, I would be about 15 weeks at the wedding. For all you mamas out there, were you showing at all at 15 weeks/did your clothes fit drastically different? My dress is already ordered so I was wondering if that could potentially be a problem. In case it matters, I'm tall...5'10"
TIA for your thoughts
Re: hypothetical question
Me at 15 weeks. I'm 5'8" but was also on modified bed rest the whole first tri.
Everyone gains weight and starts to show differently, so it's hard to give you a yes or no answer. At 15 weeks, my pants no longer fit and my shirts were snug, but I could get away with it. It also depends on the fit of your dress. If it's a sheath, you might run into issues. If it's a-line or empire waisted you're more likely to have it fit. When you ordered the dress, did it fit perfectly or was it a little big/in need of alterations? Seamstresses usually have more trouble letting a dress out than taking it in, but it all depends on the dress/fabric/fit, etc.
I don't know if this was helpful at all, lol! There are a lot of factors that play a role. You'll probably be fine. Also, depending on the bridal shop, they maybe be able to order a new size for you in time if you do get pg.
ETA: I'm stealing PPMs idea and posting a pic. I'm super short, though, at 5'1"
Pre preg:
14 weeks (don't have a 15 w pic)
I am 15 weeks now (my ticker is three days ahead). I have to agree with Botanical and say that everyone shows differently. I am 5'2", and I have absolutely no torso. There is no where to go but out. Here I was on Wednesday.
I am in maternity pants and most of my shirts are a bit snug. (I have a maternity shirt and pants on in this pic.) I would suggest maybe buying a dress a size up, and let them take it in if need be. Being so tall, you may have no problem at all at 15 weeks.
I can't let you know about how big I was! LOL.
Most dresses can be altered 2 sizes down without having to reconstruct the dress. When you are measured, talk privately with their seamstress about how big you can order the dress as she'll know how the alteration will work on it. You'll probably need some alterations anyway even if you order it in your size and you are not pregnant so ordering it bigger wouldn't add much to the cost of alterations (ask the seamstress about that, too).
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
i was wearing mat pants (this is a mat skirt in the picture). mostly because by then regular pants had become uncomfortable. i felt big at the time but of course looking back and knowing how much bigger i would get this was nothing. the top i'm wearing is not a mat shirt.

It all depends on your body type. Everyone is different. Some women don't show much at all for a long time. Others get bloated and have a bit of a pooch by then. I had a pooch before I got pregnant. ha
Is the dress possibly more loose fitting around the tummy? Hopefully if you get pregnant that quickly you'll be able to work with a good seamstress. I photographed a wedding where the bride was 20 weeks pregnant and they were able to alter her wedding dress to take out the zipper, put in a corset back, and pretty much hide any sign of a tummy. She wasn't showing much at that point, though.

This was pretty much me too (I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow). 5'3" with a crazy-long torso and I'm just now really having a bump, but I'm still in regular pants and shirts.
