Recommend your steam cleaner
DH and I really need to purchase a steam cleaner of our own. We have borrowed one from his parents or my aunt for years, but we just need to suck it up and buy one. Are the pet steam cleaners better than just the standard cleaner?
Any recommendations would be wonderful.
TIA
Re: Recommend your steam cleaner
I have not yet found a steam cleaner that really works well. We used to have the big Bissel (that pp linked to) and I really didn't think it was all that great. Yeah, the water was definitely dirty so it did pick up dirt, but I had no drastic improvement as these before and after photos show. It was decent for just using it to maintain a clean carpet.
If you really need to deep clean then renting the Rug Doctor in stores might be your best bet. I haven't done it myself but I have heard from so many people that they are great
my mom had a sick cat before he passed and I got her the bissel proheat pet steamer (http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-ProHeat-Upright-Cleaner-94003/dp/B0019680BK/ref=sr_1_9?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1362595720&sr=1-9&keywords=bissell+pet+steam+cleaner)
It really got rid of all the smells and stains and made the carpet look 100% better.
We were using the rented Rug Doctor previously but it was cheaper in the long run just to get the bissel.
We have this one- http://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-ProHeat-Upright-Cleaner-9400M/dp/B000ASDCWK/ref=sr_1_11?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1362706195&sr=1-11&keywords=Bissell+Proheat
but we got it at Sam's. I have used it once, but it did an awesome job. It's a bit of a pain to clean out after use, but it worked great. Also I liked the attachment to do our carpeted steps.
