More Bad Driving...

Not a great week for driving...

On my way to the grocery store, I was on a 55 mph frontage road. The guy driving his truck in front of me, slams on his brakes in the middle of the road at a dirt road "intersection" and comes to a full stop. I can clearly see that he thinks he has a stop sign. So I stop too to prevent a crash.

Then, he goes ahead and begins slightly meandering in his lane.

He approaches a stop sign (one that was really there), which is plastered all over both sides of the road since the traffic from left, does not stop.

He blows through this stop sign full speed.

He approaches an intersection with traffic signals. He enters the left hand turn lane and proceeds to barrel through the intersection (red arrows, solid red lights, and all) and make his left hand turn.

My assumption - he was drunk. I called the cops and dispatch put me through to an officer who wanted the direction the driver was headed and his vehicle's description. If it weren't for the snow piled up on his rear bumper, I would have gotten his plate.

Sheesh. What is UP?

Re: More Bad Driving...

  • maybe he was texting.  IDK, people have way too many distractions these days when driving.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Drunk or texting or something else going on in that car.

Holy cripes.  I am hoping he didn't hurt or kill somebody.

Whenever I come to an intersection and I see that somebody in the oncoming lane is on a cell phone, I treat that person the same way that I treat a drunk driver.
