Anyone want to do an "Old Nestie Check-In?"
I see we have quite a few post "views" and I always wonder if it's an oldie checking in. If you are an oldie checking in, want to pass the word or send a bat signal to others to say a quick hello? I often think about some of the regulars who used to post here and what they're up to and how things are going.
Re: Anyone want to do an "Old Nestie Check-In?"
I've been busy. DH & I met with an advisor for GROW about building the business and they have already recommended us to a client and to Cooley Law school that is looking into a business start up filling programe for their students.
I'm also trading my services to our suite mate, 10 hrs a week covers our rent for the month. This month I'm working on a mini-documentary and helping to produce a dinner in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the 1st federal judge appointment. The even is Next week Tuesday and is a black tie optional event. Dh & I will both be "working" the event for technical purposes. " A celebration of the appointment of Solomon L. Withey as the first District Judge for the Western District of Michigan by President Abraham Lincoln on March 11, 1863. Guest speaker is Richard Norton Smith, presidential historian and former head of six presidential libraries including the Gerald R. Ford Museum and Library. Reception with Civil War era entertainment followed by a dinner. "http://www.federalcourthistoricalwdmi.org
Meanwhile on the home front, we are a bit more settled in at my parents but still really really miss not having our own place. DH has been crazy busy with work and is looking to Contract someone to help part time.
MIss you girls
Well, hello there!
Trying to remember when I last posted here. I feel like a lot has happened I had a baby girl in July. Her name is Caroline and she has been such a great addition to the family. My labor and delivery were awesome and I recovered so much faster than after Henry. He loves his little sister and it is fun to see them "play" together. We moved at the beginning of December. Our new to us house (built in 1961) needs quite a bit of updating, but is a much better fit for our family than our previous home.
I hope everyone is doing well. Looking forward to seeing who else might update.
I've "been around" 4 years, so I dont' know if that makes me old or not. I'm pretty boring right now.

Well hi!
I don't check these boards at all anymore but someone mentioned The Nest today so I popped by. I probably haven't posted in over a year now so a lot has changed. On the sad news front, we lost Toby to cancer in December. It was horrible and we miss him dearly. On the good news front, I had a beautiful baby girl in March, Claire Ellen. She is an amazing, perfect little peanut. We didn't travel as much due to the pregnancy but made it out to Portland, OR for a wedding last fall - it would have been more fun if I had been able to partake in the delicious craft beer scene there. :-) Andy had his second ACL repair surgery after Claire was born; he tore it in soccer again. We are both still working at the same jobs, well, I will be working at the same job after my maternity leave is done. I guess that's about it!
Hope all of you and your families are well!
What the WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations! How awesome!
So sorry to hear about Toby. :-(
Just thought about this board randomly today... and thought I would say hi.
Our baby boy was born last November, his name is Ethan. He is amazing. When parents say... "You have no idea how much you will love your child..." they're right, you just can't put it into words!
Still at my same job, still busy and crazy and I love it (for the most part). My 11 week maternity leave went wayyyyy too fast. Had really bad PPD, which sucked. I'm still angry and frustrated and upset, but I am getting through it.
Happy it's summer Hope you all are doing well.
Hey ladies!!
I don't know why but The Nest popped in my head tonight and I thought I would check in! I'm still living up north, I'm recently single so I'm getting used to that....strange being alone after 4 years. I'm also heading back to school in the fall to get my MSW so I'm looking forward to that. That's pretty much it with me. Hope everyone is doing well!!
