Re: QOTD 3/7

  • I am not a concert person and neither is DH.  I don't like the crowds or the noise.  I guess that makes me old.  Embarrassed

I have been to concerts though.  My first one was New Kids on the Block.  I think that makes me REALLY old.

  • I enjoy concerts!  But it's been a while.  H was just saying we should go to at least one this summer.  I REALLY want to see Jason Aldean... YUM!

My first concert was - Backstreet boys!

  • I, in theory, like concerts, but I don't like GA concerts because I'm short and can't see, so I like to sit. I also get really cranky with people singing along to concerts (I paid to see THEM, not YOU). I just saw Mumford & Sons at the new Barclay's Center in Brooklyn and it was awful. We were in front of these 18 year olds who would not shut up and were so loud. That and Mumford & Sons really just kind of weren't meant for a big stadium show like Barclay's. And also I was crabby from work and it was a weeknight and M&S didn't go on until ten, but none of that's the concert's fault. ;)

Anyway! My FIRST concert was Billy Joel & Elton John, in 1995, I think? I started on a good note! My parents took my sister & I.

  • We like concerts, we havent been to one in forever, its about finding the time to actually go. The last concert we went to together was either DMB or John Legend, i cant remember.

My first concert was Boyz II Men, my uncle worked the fairgrounds where they were playing and snuck us in, after that it was 98 degrees!

  • I absolutely love concerts...when I'm familiar with the music. They're alright if i don't, but i much prefer knowing it.

My first concert was No Doubt. Weezer was the opening act. They had to stop No Doubt halfway through because it was an outdoor amphitheater and there were tornado warnings out. my mom made me stand in the bathroom for most of what they did pay. I'll always remember it!!

  • I am very much a concert person, but most of the people I'm close to are not, and I don't like going by myself, so I don't go to them very often. :(

The first concert I ever went to was Smashmouth. I was in 10th grade. I don't particularly love the band, but the concert was a HUGE deal because I grew up in this podunk little town that very rarely attracts any big-name acts. They were the first band to play at the college's newly-build fieldhouse, and I would say most of the town turned up for the show.

They do SUCH a good show!!! My family went to see them for my mom's birthday a couple years ago. I have a lot of memory and emotion attached to their music - along with Phil Collins and Pat Benetar, they were pretty much the soundtrack to my childhood - so I cried a lot, LOL.

  • DH and I both love concerts!!  We're both big fans of camping and concerts.

I don't remember who I saw at my first concert.  My sister took me with her and it was some country singer or something.  I am not a fan of country music.

  • I went to some stupid hip hop concert when I was 18 and I have no idea who it was.  I went with a friend and I felt bad because he really liked them, but I ended up getting a migraine right when we got there and I just basically sat with my head down on a table the whole time waiting for it to be over.

I'm not big on concerts, but if it's someone that I like, I'll look at the ticket prices and if they aren't ridiculously expensive, then I'll go.

  • I love going to shows.  DH and I go to a lot but not always together.  Last one we went to together was in December for The Bouncing Souls at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.  One of my favorite places to see a show - its intimate and during the summer they have an outside stage which I love.

I love going to festivals.  You get to camp and listen to tons of music for days!

My first concert was in 4th grade.  I went to see Paula Abdul and Color Me Badd opened for her.  I was really upset with a few of the friends I went with because they had gone to New Kids on the Block without me.

  • I used to go to shows a lot in highschool but it was mostly crappy little emo bands or those that sounded like the lead singer was throwing up.  I've gone to a few since then but I'd love to go more often (we don't get a lot of concerts in this area).

My first concert was Ryan Malcom in 2003. For those that don't know, he was the first winner of Canadian Idol.

  • I love concerts!  However, I don't go to very many because I only go to shows of people I really like.  I'm actually going to the Paid Dues festival (an independent hip hop festival) in a couple weeks with DH to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (and there will be a bunch of other ppl too like Kendrick Lamar).  So stoked!  We were bummed that we missed Macklemore when he was touring for his album The Heist because his Socal shows were the week of our wedding and honeymoon....but now that he's going to be headlining Paid Dues, we're so there!  :)

My first concert I think was the Spice Girls.  Haha.  My parents bought tickets for me and my sister.

  • I love to go! I went often with my first husband, and don't go much now. My first was a Christian singer, Sandi Patti, with my Grandmother - I was in fifth grade LOL

I saw Alice in Chains open for Ozzy in September 1992, and went on to see lots of different mixes of old and new over the next 16 years. My H and I took our boys (well, his and my youngest) to see Chevelle last March, with Janus and another back that was awful and I forgot their name. I really had fun, it had been over four years since the last one (HellYeah, I was on crutches!) and remembered how much I really enjoy a live venue!

  • My first concert was last July and DH then FH took me to see Josh Groban

the latest concert we went to was Feb 26th (2013) for our 3 year dating anniversary he took me to see Celtic Woman. LOVED it :D

  • I love concerts, but like someone else said, I'm not a GA fan.  I like to have a seat and space.

My first concert was Sugar Ray.  Save Ferris and Goldfinger opened for them.  I believe I was in 9th grade.  I wanted to go so bad.  I went on my school's ski trip and when I came home from the weekend, the tickets for me, my friend, my brother (who my mom super bribed to take me) and his friend were sitting on my dresser.  I remember just running around the house screaming.

I go see DMB every year.  H isn't a fan, but went with me anyway.  I also have seen New Kids on the Block a bunch of times since they reunited a few years ago.  Cathy, I'm not sure there are words for the jealousy I feel toward you that your first concert was NKOTB.  My parents told me I was too young for concerts when they were big.
