Hi!
Wanted to intro before I jump into any conversations here. I'm new to the site, but this forum caught my eye right away as I have 3 fur babies.
I have a sweet, sweet, sweet(I can't say it enough) 1-2 year old dog named who DH and I rescued from a kill shelter this past December. She's a mutt and definitely is a dachshund and something else(likely beagle). She loves our local dog park and is honestly the fastest dog there every single time. Not counting actual race dogs, I've never known a dog who could run as fast as her. I also never thought of myself as much of a dog person until she came into my life and now I just love her so much.
I also have 2 cats; a boy (2.5 years old) and a girl (3-4 years old). I absolutely believe that I will wind up with high blood pressure because of these 2 constantly having issues. Boy kitty really loves to attack girl kitty every chance he gets. She gets upset and they run around crashing into things. I feel awful for her when he behaves like this, but no amount of reprimanding him seems to help. All my pets are spayed/neutered and always indoor. They have plenty of space, but boy kitty just can't stand to leave his "sister" alone. Any advice?
Hope all of you and your pets have a great weekend!
Re: Pet mom intro :)
Welcome! (and please ignore the awful troll...I will be reporting the user).
I would, however, LOVE to see pictures of your furry babies. They sound like quite the crew!
I have no advice on the part of the kitties. I have 2 female cats, and the younger, more hyper of the 2 takes intense pleasure in antagonizing and chasing the older (only older by a year, so not old at all yet!). I'm starting to think it's more play than I used to realize. If the older one starts making too much disgruntled noise (she's a drama queen, and starts wailing and hissing at the slightest provocation), I'll break things up. Otherwise, I know they're fine with each other since they will curl up together.

Thank you! I'll never understand trolls. Is there really nothing better they can think of to do with their time?
I'll post the pictures below and hopefully it works. I haven't posted any pics yet so we'll see how it goes haha. I'll post the girl kitty first and then my boy.
Younger cats do seem to like to antagonize. Yours sound like a handful, but fun
I WISH mine would curl up together or generally get along, but the boy just loves to chase her anytime she gets comfortable in a chair or something and I can't imagine them ever cuddling. I'll probably make a separate post with more specific questions about those 2, but thank you

The only advice I can offer for the kitties is maybe a pheramone spray? I forget what brand but we sold them at the animal hospital I used to work at, it generally mellowed cats out.
I mostly just wanted to comment because (I'm also pretty new) one of my babies is a doxie so your description of your pup caught my eye. He's my first dachshund and now I'm obsessed with the breed! Aren't they like...addictive dogs?? Mine is NOT fast, though, BTW. haha. Yours must have inherited her legs from a different breed.
Hello there I am new as well!!!!
My two cats love each other they are always together attached at the hip so to speak. But every once in awhile my male cat stalks my female cat chases her growls at her, then 5 mins later they are sleeping practically on top of each other. You can always break up the little tiff when it happens but if they are not hurting each other should not be an issue. I usually clap or try to distract them so he does not drive my girl nuts!!!
Welcome!!!
