What's everyone reading? How are you coming on your book reading goals?
my read shelf:
Re: Book Club Monday
Still listening to The Rogue - Joe Ginniss. Blah... I need to finish since Beautiful Creatures just became available for me!
I'm still reading Shadow of Night - Deborah Harkness. Almost half done... I have 10 more days with it from the library, so I really need to read like 40 pages/day! It's getting better.
I've read 14 books this year, and Goodreads says I'm 3 books ahead of schedule.
I was Meh about it too, but I found myself thinking about it way after I was done.
I am still reading Hostile Witness, courtroom dramas just don't "do it" for me.
I finished Requiem (Delirium #3) this weekend. I was a huge fan of of the first two books. I'm not satisfied with the ending. It's an Ok ending, but for this being the last book of a trilogy, I need more.
I read Divergent (loved it!!!) and I'm currently reading Defending Jacob. Not sure what I'll read next. I got a paperback from the good reads giveaway, so maybe I'll do that.
So far I've read 22 books which is 20% of my goal of 110.
Ha, Life of Pi is one of those I don't want to read, because I had an ex who was obsessed with it, and so I have weird spite-resentment towards it for no logical reason, but when I finally heard about it with the movie, it did definitely sound interesting.
I finally finshed Beautiful Creatures this weekend and I started on Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, (Stephen King's son). The story is good, but I feel like his writing is very amature. I think that he could be good, he just needs to hone his skills a little more. It is his first book after all.
As for my goal, I made it 20 books, not knowing how I was going to do with my Nook. I have finished 10 books and am 50% complete with my goal. I think that I need to update my goal. lol
H and I saw the Great and Powerful Oz this weekend. I immediately came home and bought the entire Oz collection for my kindle (Hurry up if you're interested, it's currently 95 cents for all 14 books).
I plan to start reading them this weekend. I may actually read it as a read aloud for my students.
I've been terrible with reading this year, but I didn't set any goals so I'm not behind.
I am reading my drivers manual lol
I signed up finally to take driving courses to get my license I start March 18th... so going through the book. (yes I am 33 and never even had a learners permit)
I need to get to the library and get a real book soon.
