How was your weekend?

This overcast Monday and altered sleep schedule is making me cold and sleepy. I miss the warmth and sun from this past weekend. What fun things did you do outside with our first little hint of Spring?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Hola!

Saturday - Gymnastics with Danica, Easter pictures with the kiddies, had the kids play outside and then took my mom to get her taxes done.

Sunday - Swim lessons with Danica and while we did that, DH and DS went for a 15.8 mile bike ride along the Bucks County Towpath and did New Hope. I was surprised DS went that far for his first long ride like that. Then once they got home we headed to DS's Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. It was awful. Really, really awful.

The weather was beautiful, though. I absolutely hate everything about winter so I was very thankful for the change.

  • Halfway through Monday, yay! I am a tired crab this morning, we are re-sleep training T3 since Miss Thang decided she no longer wants to sleep all night after she has for the past year. 2.5 hours to get her to sleep in the crib, waaahh

Fri- DH returned earlier than expected from a week long biz trip so we went on a last minute date which was must needed. Bobby's Burger Palace and to the movies to see Oz, loved it!

Sat- I had a bajillion things to do then everything kind of fell apart and I was left with a clear schedule which was awesome.  I really enjoyed my 8 mile run with this weather, it was a nice change from freezing tundra I feel like it's been all winter.  We then went to take a look at a new car we were considering- well the stars alligned with our trade in value, current offers,  price, availability so DH is going to pick it up tonight, very excited!

Sun- We went to the mall then finally took the kids to the park to enjoy the weather. It was a nice weekend overall

  • I was so glad for the lovely weather this weekend. I don't know if it's the fact that I am moodier and have less energy than usual due to being pregnant, but this winter seems to have been the longest of my life.

Saturday--went for brunch and a long walk in Center City with my mom and aunt. Tried to find a few cute new tops/dresses to transition between the awkward "my regular clothes don't quite fit and I'm still not ready for maternity clothes" stage. Failed.

Sunday--went to the flower show with my mom and grand mom. I really enjoyed it this year and even took advantage of the end of show deals to get some pretty flowers for around the house.

Today--extra day off, since the school I work for is on Spring Break (the perks of working in higher ed!). I'm baking cookies and making granola right now and then meeting my old boss for dinner later.

Yesssss!!! What did you get?! I am SO putting this process off like no other. I want to get a new car but I don't want to have to deal with the sales people... and negotiating... and negotiating on my car... and getting rid of my car... etc. We're going to start the process next month and I just don't even want to deal with it. Congrats!!

  • Perfect weather!!

saturday- we did the kidical mass ride I crazyily enough volunteer to organize. Full recap in my blog. In short at 34 weeks preganant on my bike I could only do 16 miles. So on the way home (after the kid ride part) I literally threw in the towel and had p come back and get me in the car.

That night we grilled burgers and fries! So good.

    Sunday-

Bad pregnancy migraine. Awful. We did grocery shopping together. But then m and p did outdoorsy stuff alone.

  • HW- we decided on the Acadia SLT with the captain seats, it is what works best for our needs and budget. Honestly, the whole process was crazy easy, so much that I am nervous he is going to go tonight and the sales dude is going to say "haha just kidding!"

Our current truck is way under the mileage and being a toyota and in great condition it really held it's value so we have some leverage on the trade in. So that plus whatever GMC was offering, we actually came in less than I was expecting to pay monthly and no out of pocket money needed, bonus! And then they just so happen to have the exact color combo we wanted with all the features already on the lot, so yea... stars definitely alligned. We actually didn't have to trade in until May and were just going to get numbers but they are paying off the remaining payments. Deal seems too good to be true so I will believe it when I see it parked outside my house

  • We had a nice weekend. I don't remember what I did on Friday haha. Saturday I went to BRU and completed my registry and bought the City Select! Then came home and did some stuff around the house. Put away the dry food in the pantry and was able to put food away in the new fridge! Holla.

Sunday I cleaned part of the dining room and part of the living room. I can only do a little bit at a time but i was able to clear half the table so there is enough room for 2 people to eat! This is very exciting for me.

  • Kel- Fingers crossed it all works out!  I would love to get an Acadia someday. Our DS is only 3 weeks old and I can understand why everyone says an SUV makes life so much easier with kids.  Right now, our Accords will suffice, but I can't imagine making it work with more than one kid.

Saturday- Just chilled at home, which is what I really do now. I have never watched so much TV in my life. There are days that go by when I don't leave the house and a trip to the mechanic is exciting. DH's sisters popped up for an unexpected visit which was interesting, being that our house looks like a disaster area and I was still in my PJs at 3 pm.

Sunday- Took advantage of the nice weather to break out the City Micro and take DS for a walk.  I met up with my mom, who was pushing my niece in her coach, and we basically walked all over South Philly.  On the way to my mom's we ran into my FIL, so DS and I went visiting there for a bit.  I am really looking forward to taking DS for walks everyday in the nicer weather while I am still on my leave.

PSA: I have the City Micro from Target that I scored on clearance for 100 bucks. I had my heart set on the City Mini GT.  This version of the Micro is essentially Target's clone of the City Mini.  I must say I LOVE it and pushing DS in it was a dream.  My niece was in a travel system and where my mom had to lift her over trolley tracks, I glided right over them. They still have the Micros on Target's website for $199, and I think you get a $20.00 gift card and if you have a Target card another 5% off and free shipping.  I was going to buy the car seat adapter and my mom talked me out of it.  I am glad she did.  DS is still teeny tiny, but he was just fine in the stroller on his own.

Oh and the clock thing totally has me messed up.  Especially when a certain little guy decided he wants to be awake from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. now.

  • Mine was ok, DH and I didn't feel like going out Friday night so we ended up ordering takeout Mexican and it hit the spot.

saturday DH worked but my parents came to town and we had a great brunch at Khyber. Walking around Old City in a light sweater was awesome.

sunday kinda sucked because I ended up having to work, so did DH and we ended up with a late pizza dinner.

Looking forward to DH being off Tues & Thurs this week.

  • Friday night- We had pizza and just lounged.

Saturday- I had to help my Mom with a few things, and husband went to his parent's to help there.  We went to a low key dinner, and tv watching that night.

Sunday- He went to see a kid's basketball game.  I cleaned, did laundry, grocery shopping and then went to my parent's for a visit.  He went to his parent's for dinner on  the way home from the game.  Both of us were in bed early last night.

BORING week end, but I actually feel well rested!

  • Friday night DH played poker so I was home with the kid.  He has been an absolute mess the last few days with his teeth.  He was asleep by 630 and I followed suit at 10.  It was lovely, ha!

Saturday we had my niece's first birthday party, which was a blast.  She was so fun and really had a ball with the cake smash.

Sunday the kiddo was off and on with low fevers and naps.  Since the weather was so nice, I did make sure we hit the park for a bit.  It was mobbed (as expected)

Awesome! I'm glad you picked something you like! I still really love the JX but we officially pulled it out of the running due to not being able to tow anything with it and it only takes premium gas. I'm SO over putting premium gas into my car for 6+ years now and I can't imagine doing it with an SUV for another 6+ years. It has been no joke paying over $4 a gallon for the past 4+ years. I love the JX, don't get me wrong, but it's just not practical overall for us. It's the same price as the Durango Citadel we want, but the Durango takes regular gas and has a much higher towing capacity.

Good luck with it! What color did you get?

ETA: I also wanted to say that's awesome they have the color and options you guys wanted!! We are going to have to order ours, unfortunately.

Super Jealous, I'm in Higher ed too and we never get off!! I thought I would have more days off but no such luck.

Saturday - We did a nice hike at Ridley with the pup and then H "surprised" me with an early 30th birthday party with all my close friends/family. It was nice, but I figured it out about 2 weeks ago. haha!

Sunday- I was so tired from the hike, the loss of an hour, and the party I literally lay around all day, kinda bummed  that I missed a great day but I needed it.

  • Friday -- Mexican takeout and vegging.

Saturday -- Drove up to North Jersey for a get together with most of DH's college friends. We had a lot of fun, and the baby was SO good (not that he isn't normally, I'm just especially appreciative of it in a setting like that). Plus, we had an unexpected visitor in the form of a MALE SUPERMODEL -- I'm talking the guy version of Giselle Bundchen -- who happens to live across the street from the friend who was hosting. Every female in that house, myself included, lost their minds as though it was 1992 and he was Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

Sunday -- Drove home, tooks naps (all three of us), went for a long walk around the neighborhood, and then did meal planning and grocery shopping for the week.
