How did you like Splash Lagoon? Did you buy your tickets in advance or when you got there? We're thinking of taking DD in a couple of weeks and I'd love any feedback you could offer! (we're looking to just go for the day, not overnight)
Re: *bride2003*
The kids had fun - first time we went - it was my sister, Caileigh (7) & cousins (ages 6, 10 & 11). My sister & I didn't do much - I couldn't do the slides b/c of my knee and my sister did 1 and decided that was enough so we relaxed on lounge chairs, walked around, did the lazy river, adult hot tub (was full of college age kids) & wave pool. The kids were old enough to go off by themselves for a good bit & they had fun on the slides, pools, etc.. I didn't take my younger kids b/c I knew Keira (4) wouldn't go on the big slides and I wasn't sure what else was there for her. Plus I didn't want to get stuck in an area with just her & have my sister watch the other 4. And Eamon was too young I thought for the $$. I think its pricey. They do have a little kids area with small slides, swings in the water, and a splash type pad which looked fun but it got really crowded by the middle of the day.
My sister did pay in advance for a day pass b/c she said they sometimes sell out but I think you can pay when you get there. We brought in water, juice boxes & snacks but you have to smuggle it in. I recommend doing it (in your bag) b/c its $$.
We left around 8 & got there at 9:30 - it was early enough we secured a couple lounge chairs upstairs as you walk in which were perfect for the day. We didn't need a locker either b/c we left our stuff there. There are other sitting type chairs in the wave pool and tables downstairs by the kids area so if you get there early grab one of those. Key is to get there early enough b/c by 11 it was jammed & I saw one poor lady with an infant sitting on a bench with all her stuff under it right in the middle of where the slides were. I gave her our lounge chairs when we left!
Also, we ate lunch around 11:30-11:45 which ended up being a good move b/c the line was really long by noon. Then around 3 they were hungry for snacks which we brought.
The kids did the ropes course around 4 and then we left at 5. The lines were really long for the slides & the chlorine was getting to everyone so they had had enough. I really don't think there is enough to warrant staying overnight or to justify the price of the rooms.
Overall, the kids had fun so that was what mattered. My husband is not a fan so I doubt we would ever go with the little ones until they get older & want to ride everything.
HTH - have fun!
How time flies! Caileigh (9), Keira (6) & Eamon (3)
