1 year anniversary in September

Yeah, I know I am ahead of the game, but I like to be prepared, and would like to save up the money to do something nice for my husband. I could go with tickets to a baseball game, I could make hima candle light dinner at home. I am looking for some outside the box ideas. My husband loves sports (hockey, baseball and football) and he is a chef (which means he really doesn't enjoy going out to eat because "I've seen how dirty these kitchens can be"). I am not a wonderful cook, but he knows I try really hard to cook edible and good tasting foods for him. (I am not a meat eater, and am not that great at cooking it for him)

So...any suggestions???

  • I fully believe that for anniversaries, it shouldn't be one-sided. Knowing your DH is a chef, how about the two of you cook a nice dinner together. You could get him something he loves for the two of you to do (tickets to a sporting event).

  • For our first anniversary I purchased tickets to a Tigers baseball game (we are huge fans), and the nicest hotel in the downtown area near the stadium had a "baseball package" special rate that was 50% off from their standard rates if you were attendin

  • I always go for the weekend away.  Maybe somewhere a sports team he wouldn't normally have an opportunity to see is playing?

  • A weekend away is a great idea if you can afford it. It breaks up the routine, you usually don't have to worry about the daily tasks (cooking, cleaning up, making your bed! etc), you can even get away from friends and family and have some alone time. <
