Owners of new construction

I'm particularly interested to hear from my fellow Ryan girls...

Do you get a lot of popping/cracking noises in your house? It's not like constant, but we do seem to get periods of noisiness, particularly on the top floor. This morning I threw my pjs onto the floor in our bedroom and you would've thought I dropped an anvil!

Re: Owners of new construction

  • YES!  Some times I hear it while I'm laying in bed at night and I wonder if the house is caving in.  I only really hear it on the top floor.  I assumed it was just the house settling.  I'm glad to know it's not only us.

  • It drives me nuts! I've always had an irrational fear of my house collapsing (strange, I know), so this new construction settling stuff is not good for my nerves!
  • My friend built with Ryan and she mentioned they have this a lot. Sounds like it's pretty common!
