I took out my nuvaring a week early in Feb and got my period. Didnt put one in for march and havent gotten a period yet. I know that it can take awhile for your body to regulate your periods again so Ill assume thats what is going on. We have been using condoms
I called the Dr because I want to put another one in, and skip my period next month for the wedding but when the nurse called back they said i can put one in, but i wont be protected until i put in the NEXT one. does that sound right?
When i started the ring i wasnt on my period, and was protected after 7 days of it being in. Thats also what the website says...that youll be good to go after 7 days. Did the nurse get confused?
website says:
If you haven?t used a hormonal birth control method or have been using only condoms, a diaphragm,
or other barrier method of birth control in the past month
Insert NuvaRing on the first day of your cycle, (i.e., the first day of menstrual bleeding).
NuvaRing will work immediately, it is not necessary to use an additional contraceptive method.
You may also start on Day 2 to 5 of your cycle, but in this case make sure you use an extra
method of birth control (barrier method), such as male condoms or spermicide for the first
seven days of NuvaRing use in the first cycle.
Re: nuvaring question
From what you've copied off of the website, you may not have been protected after 7 days, since you were probably not on day 2-5 of your cycle (unless your period was 3 days and you put it in in the first couple of days after, I guess). What you copied
