Bed frame help

The kit to convert T's crib to a toddler bed was great. The kit to convert it to a full size bed sucks. It broke under the weight of two adults the first night it was up. We have had it reinforced for T's use since then, but we need a solution that is final.

I'd like to find a new frame that we can attach to the existing headboard. The only issue is that he doesn't have a box spring under his mattress to keep it lower to the ground. I'm wondering if anyone has seen a bed frame that provides distributed support. The other option is to buy a metal frame with support only on the edges and get a sheet of plywood to go under his mattress.

DH is interested in getting him a whole new bed, but I'd rather reuse the headboard - it matches his dresser and it looks nice. :-)

Re: Bed frame help

  • Do you have anything under the mattress right now? We got dd's mattress at the Origninal Mattress Factory and instead of a box spring we got a bunky board. It's only a couple of inches thick. Sorry about you bed issues, that really stinks!

  • Since you say there is not enough room for a boxspring, Can you get a box spring and just put it on the floor and do away with the crappy frame?   And then somehow prop the headboard up against the wall or just attach the headboard to the wall? &nbsp
