how does birth control work?
I understand that this is a strange question, but I legitimately need advice.
I am getting married in less than 4 months and I have never had sex before/never needed birth control. we are waiting until our wedding night and I want to use the Pill.
how long do I have to take it before it's effective?
does my doctor need to prescribe it? I guess if she does then ill just ask her the rest of my questions
Again, I know this is a weird thing to ask but I cant ask my mom about it because she doesn't think I should be taking the Pill in the first place... shes weird.
anyway, any help would be appreciated

I was in the same boat as you about a year ago, but with only 2 months to go until the wedding. I went to my primary doctor (because I didn't have a gyno and I'm actually going to a gyno for the first time next week!) but the primary doctor can still p

it's probably time for your annual gyn checkup anyway; you can get a script for the pill at the same time.
It'll take a bit for the pill to kick in --- follow your doc's orders on that; you'll need to use a
