I've recently decided I probably want to quit hormonal BC, at least for a while. I'm looking into charting/natural family planning, and looking for any tips you may have.
I have never charted, but I've completed the tutorials on FF. From FF, I now feel equipped with the knowledge of how to *get* pregnant, buuut not so sure of the charting "rules" I should follow when TTA. I'm trying to find a copy of TCOYF at my local library, but I may just end up buying it. I've also signed up for the TCOYF website, so I'll poke around there and see what more I can learn.
I'm planning to buy a bbt and start temping before I go off the pill and practice for a couple cycles before relying on it.
Anyway, I feel like I have a pretty good start, but if you have anything to add, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
ETA: I guess FAM is more like what I'm talking about... I'm not really sure what the difference is between FAM and NFP, except that NFP is more of a religious thing
Re: Do any of you use (or have you used) NFP?
You can try temping while on hormonal BC, but it won't really DO anything for you - the reason for the surge in temperature after ovulation is due to the release of one of your hormones (I want to say progesterone, but don't quote me here), and hormona

We are beginning to use FAM as BC, and here's my input. I found that FF was great if we were TTC, but we're not. So TCOYF was a lot more helpful in that regard, but I use FF to chart everything.
As far as temping while still on BC, there w

"You know you're in love when you don't want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." - Dr. SeussI went off BC pills 2 months ago (at my FH's urging) and it has been better than expected. My first cycle was 34 days and the second was 30. My cramps aren't bad at all- nothing like when I was a teen.
I'm also using FF and charting my temp
