Stinging Nettle + Dogs

We have 2 pups, both are a little over 2 years old.
The bigger one has had some scabs on her recently, we've tried 3 different shampoos and benadryl. We were in the back yard this weekend and came across some stinging nettle. There were a few, kind of large plants. We pulled them out and are definitely going to be keeping a closer eye out for them , I touched one and my hand stung for days.
Has anyone had experience with their pups? I am trying to figure out if her scabs are from this or it's her usual allergies in high gear because this was a VERY bad pollen season for us and we recently moved to a house with a giant oak tree spanning most of the yard.
