Poll: Painting

What color is your kitchen?

What color is your living room?

What color is your (home) office?

Bama fans - would you consider buying a home with an orange room?

Auburn fans - would you consider buying a home with a red room?

....I painted our kitchen this weekend what was supposed to be terra cotta, but turned out to be deep burnt orange. Which I suppose is terra cotta, and we love it, but it just wasn't what I pictured at first. I'm just wondering if I will need to repaint a completely neutral color in the future if we decide to move? I'll try to post pics soon.

Our living room/dining room is a yellow gold. I like it, but cannot match it to touch up holes and scratches the previous owners left. We have big windows, so the color goes well with the sunlight, but I'm wondering if there is a better or more popular color we should try?

My office is freaking turquoise and I mean that. But at least it's interesting and not depressing. I'm hoping to eventually move all of the crap (musical instruments & equipment, arts & crafts, husband's clothes & junk) and add more girly things so it won't look so much like an aquarium. I have a vision, glamorous things whatever they are, maybe a glitzy chandelier, black & white photographs, silver accents, sort of like a Breakfast at Tiffany's office I guess, it's just not happening any time soon.... Any suggestions on how to get it on a dime are welcome!

Re: Poll: Painting

  • Well let's see.  Beige, Beige and BEIGE!  Rick said we can paint the living room sometime in February.  I feel like I'm in a big apartment with these bare, colorless walls.

As an Auburn fan, I would maybe buy a house with a room with red walls.  But then I would paint over it in a warm, neutral color.

  • What color is your kitchen? A dark mocha color

What color is your living room? A khaki color (same color as kitchen, only a few steps lighter.)

What color is your (home) office? A khaki color... soon to be repainted a spa blue/green when it turns into the nursery.

Bama fans - would you consider buying a home with an orange room? Yes.. because it could easily be painted over! (As a bama fan, I have to have at least one red room!)

  • Our kitchen is RED! I love it. The dining room is yellow as well as the living room.  DH would like an orange UT room.  The office is Key Lime green!  Our house is very colorfull and I absolutly love it!

  • What color is your kitchen?  Fossil Stone from Behr (pic in bio)

What color is your living room?  The same as the kitchen!  My LR and Kitchen connect on my back wall....so I decided to just paint them the same color.  I had a different color in the kitchen to begin with...but it was just not working!

What color is your (home) office?  Pumpkin....it seriously looks like a pumpkin!  DH loves that burnt orange...Texas Longhorn color...and I made the mistake of telling him that he could paint the office any color he wanted..lol!

Bama fans - would you consider buying a home with an orange room?  DH IS a bama fan...that makes our orange office even better..lol!

Auburn fans - would you consider buying a home with a red room?  I am considering painting our guest bathroom a crimson color.  I do like red...just not UA :P

  • Our kitchen/den have horrible solid wood paneling that I can't wait to paint over this winter.  The living room is a tanish yellow color, very warm feeling.  The office is blue, as are all the bedrooms in the house.  I want to paint them so bad.  I'm not a fan of orange as a paint color, but if it was something I liked, I wouldn't care.

  • Beige, beige, cream. Our guest bathroom is crimson, and we love it, and I am an Auburn fan. And our bedroom is a funky dark powder blue, but I love it.
  • What color is your kitchen? A pea green color (it was painted by my cousin and his wife, who lived in the house before us.  I hated it at first, but it grew on me)

What color is your living room? It's beige on top of the chair rail, and a dark, khaki color on the bottom

What color is your (home) office? A dark gray color

Bama fans - would you consider buying a home with an orange room? As long as it's a pretty shade (I actually like burnt orange) but if it's bright orange I'll probably paint it a neutral color

Auburn fans - would you consider buying a home with a red room? N/A

    Siggy coming soon....
  • What color is your kitchen? It's called "Fired Brick"

What color is your living room? The den is light wood paneling (so ugly).  Currently the living room/dining room is white walls with a blue floral wallpaper border and one wall papered.  In December, that will probably change to a light khaki/tan, with a navy blue accent wall.

What color is your (home) office? Off white.  Pretty boring.

Auburn fans - would you consider buying a home with a red room? Yes, because it can be painted.  However, I voluntarily painted my kitchen with white flooring and backsplashes red...so it probably wouldn't bother me!
