This make-up amateur needs some help

I'm in a wedding next weekend and have to do my own make-up. I usually only wear eyeliner and mascara so I'm going to need to buy a few things I guess.

I don't want to spend a ton of money. Before going shopping for it, I'd like to know ahead of time what I am looking for so I don't feel pressured from the sales people.

Any advice is appreciated!

  • Do you intend to use the products your purchase outside of the wedding?

If not, I would call local make-up counters and ask about a makeover option, assuming you have time the day of the wedding to fit it in. They may have a purchase requirement

I do intend to use this stuff after the wedding, if I can apply it correctly, lol.

  • I would think you need foundation, cover up (blemishes/under eyes), blush (I really like cream or stick blushes), eye shadow get something neutral - like a gold beige, eye liner, mascara and either lipstick/lip stain/gloss.  They will probaly try

  • I like the idea of going to sephora or wherever, but you can also check out you tube for ideas. Wayne Goss is a makeup artist that has a ton of videos for different makeup tips and ways to apply. About a year and a half ago, I did a whole makeup overha

  • another idea is if there is another bridesmaid that LOVES doing make up, see if she would be willing to do your makeup...in that case, I would have your own, eyeliner, mascara, and foundation...but let her play with your colors
