Why are people so STUPID?

A family member on my dad's side decided it was a great idea to screen shot my wedding photos from the photographers website and post them on Snapfish for the family to order.  Never mind that these are copyrighted photos that I don't even have the rights to, much less her.  I could KILL her right now.

  • Did the photographer find out? Not sure what could happen if the photographer did find out, just don t think it would be good. Sorry, I hope everything turns out okay for you. Why can t people just mind their own business?? Oh well. Again hope every thing turns out okay.
  • That is frustrating.  She had to know it was wrong if she had to get screenshots!  lol!

  • The photographer doesn't know that I am aware of, but I don't want to have to deal with what happens if someone tries to print from Snapfish.  What aggrivates me even more is she didn't even come to the wedding, but decided it was appropriate to put up pictures.

  • If it were me I'd politely say something to her because you paid a lot of money not only for the photographer's service but for the pics too.  When you have the discs (if you got that in your package) you're happy to share but until then you'd appreciate if she'd order from the photographer directly (I'm sure Stephanie can attest as this is someone's livelihood and they worked hard for you!!!).  I wonder if there's a way you can contact snapfish and take them down!?!?!?  ha ha, I'm such the PI, trust me on that.

I hate to sound malicious but I just think about if I was in the photographers shoes.  It's one thing if she copied them and the photog didn't lock the site/pics but it's another thing when she does a screen shot and that's just not right.

BTW she will totally get crappy quality b/c of it.

Oh now that is even worse!  I would be furious!

  • That person did not even come to your wedding??  I would have to say something...and get those off snapfish before anyone finds out!

  • This would make me so mad!!!  One of DHs uncles is a amateur photographer (very amateur) and he came to our wedding and tried to take pictures.  She would line up shots at the reception and then he would take a picture.  Our actual photographer had to tell my mom that is was a breech of her contract and if he didn't stop taking her pictures she would have to leave.  My mom took care of it but still!!!

I would have to say something to her.

  • I would absolutely demand that she take them down immediately.  That's completely wrong and inappropriate.  Tell her that she's putting you in a position of getting sued, and you won't tolerate it.

I wouldn't even be nice about it.  I'd also consider emailing your family and asking them to please not order those pictures.

  • yep, I would definitely tell her to take them down.  It is illegal to copy/scan/screenshot anything of the photographer's work without prior permission.  (and this would not be approved I can assure you!)

If she does screen shots and then prints them- the quality is going to be horrible which in turn reflects on the photographer when she shows off the "professional" pictures.  People will think "man, she sure has crappy, pixelated pictures printed on cheap paper.  I'm definitely not using her!"  I've had this happen to me and it saddens me.  :(

I'd give her the name of the photographer and tell her she is more than welcome to contact him/her directly to order professional quality prints.  It's the RIGHT thing to do!  :)
